6 Autumn/ Winter Lip products

We still have summer here in the UK, but we are sure that everyone out there can feel the autumn breeze kicking in. With that we have started moving towards everything which is related to autumn and for some reason this time we are excited about autumn/winter, maybe had too much of a summer?
So lets get started!!!

Karen's Picks

I love wearing this colour during autumn/winter, because my outfits in that season are quite dark, for example, my coats are usually black. Therefore, to brighten up my overall look, I like to wear this lipstick. This colour isn't too bright, but enough in my opinion and I always get compliments when I wear this :) Also, this is not drying at all, which is perfect for the cold weather!

As I have mentioned, I like to wear a brighter lip during autumn and this is another reason for choosing this lipstick. I am not yet comfortable to wear a bright red lipstick, and this is the closest shade I could wear to a shape red colour. I love this because it has a mint scent to it, which is always nice to smell haha :)

This is one of my favourite lipsticks! The pink shade of this is absolutely lovely and it is such a 'me shade'. I believe that this is an 'underdog' product, because noone ever talks about this!! However, if you are willing to invest into a high-end lip product, I would 100% recommend this! BECAUSE, first, just look at the packaging, it's so elegant and beautiful! Second, as this is a serum for the lips, it was designed to treat your lips with moisture which is amazing for all year round. Third, the product is so smooth, and it just melts onto your lips :) There are just so many good things about this, so you should really check this out next time you walk pass a Dior counter :P x

    Avneesh's Picks
Left Rimmel 128 Starry-Eyed| Middle Maybelline 540 Hollywood Red| Right Revlon Lipbutter 010 Raspberry Pie

Rimmel lasting finish lipstick- 128 Starry-Eyed
I Love this colour, it is dark, but not vampy. It is a bold colour which says "I'm Fashionable". It just adds to any outfit or make-up look. It looks lovely ith a natural eye look and even with a winged-eye liner. The pigmentation is great of these Rimmel lipsticks and it lasts well too. Unfortunately I couldn't find this colour on the boots website, you guys should check it out in store if they have it.

Maybelline colour sensational- 540 Hollywood Red
LOVE LOVE LOVE this colour, this is one of my favourite lipstick. During the colder months I wear it all the time but even for summer it is a good colour. It just brightens my face up without looking like I have put too much effort, I will say as it is, it makes me feel pretty! Pigmentation is great, lasts really well, moisturising and creamy. I think this colour will always be in my collection forever. I will repurchase it again and again! Unfortunately I couldn't find the link on boots. But they do have it in store.

Revlon colourburst lip butter- 010 Raspberry Pie
When I bought it I didn't like it at first, now I can't remember why I didn't like it. The hype about these lip butters are all worth it. This colour especially, is also my all time favourite, it is glossy as well but not sticky like a lip gloss. The pigmentation again is great and lasts so well. I apply it lightly if I want a subtle look and if I want to go bright I layer it up. Also it smells like vanilla. Absolutely love it.

We love these shades, we already know we will be wearing them like there's no tomorrow. ;)
Let us know which are your autumn/winter favourite shades! xx

    Review: Maybelline Baby Lips

Helllooo pretty ladies :) So the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm finally here in the UK! And we know that everyone has been so excited for them and everyone loves them. So here is what we think of them.

    Karen's Review
I only got one of the baby lips, and it is the 'Quenched' one in the blue packaging. This hasn't got any colour, as it's only purpose is to moisturise the lips. I really like it, and it does its job. On top of that, it smells really nice, as to all other baby lips.
The reason why I didn't get the ones with a sheer of colour was because I didn't think I would use it often. I usually like to use lipstick for a more pigmented finish, so the idea of the other baby lips are not really for me :/ Overall, I really enjoy using this quenched baby lips as I have already mentioned this in my July favourites

    Avneesh's Review

Sorry guys I am not impressed with these. Same as Karen I like pigmented lip products and these are just not for me. I have other lip balms which I use and like them better. Also they only have 2 coloured ones which are the wrong colours for dark skin tones like mine. They should have had a maroon one which even though sheer would look good and suit all skin tones. The pink punch is too pale (even though very sheer) and the peach kiss has shimmer which I don't like. I was so unimpressed with boots (brent cross) because they didn't have it for a long time after they were launched, then one day I asked a sales assistant and she said they have it but not on the display, so she got me these from the back, and I couldn't test them either. However I do really like the smell of these and they are very moisturising. They are good for a natural look when I don't feel like putting heavy make-up on. And I think they are good as lip balms. Its just that I expected more from them, otherwise they are a great product.

    Review: Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo

HEYAAAA :) How are you all doing? Today, we will be talking the Color Tatto with you :P They are not new products from Maybelline, but we thought it would be nice to review this and give you our honest opinion.
Left: Barely Branded    Right: On and on Bronze
These are really nice cream gel eyeshadow. If you look at picture above carefully, you will notice that the packaging of the two are different. This is because one was bought in New York and the other was purchased in the UK.

    Barely Branded
    Karen's review
Unfortunately, we believe that this is only available in the US as I have never seen this is the UK and this is from the Metal Eyeshadow line from Maybelline.  This is a nice champagne colour which I love wearing as a eyeshadow base. Also, it can be used as a all-over-the-lid eyeshadow to add a bit of colour when you want a natural make-up look.

    Karen's Review:
We both have this and love this shade, I was using this all the time 2 months ago when it wasn't too hot. This colour looks lovely with my skin colour. Also, for some reason, it looks darker in the crease when I have applied this evenly on the lid, which is lovely! If I was a more precise look, I usually just use a Mac 217 to blind, and I'm good to go.

    Avneesh's Review
I just got it recently and I love how pigmented they are. I just use my fingers to put it on my lid and blend it as well. You need very little amount of this and it just brightens the face up. As it suits mine and karen's both skin colours I think it will suit any skin colour, it is a very versatile colour. It lasts long and doesn't crease.

Overall, we love these little color tattoo! They are really creamy, easy to blend and very affordable! If you have not yet got one, you HAVE to give this a try :)

    Avneesh's July Favourites

Hello Beautifuls, July was a hot month and because of that I wasn't using much makeup, as it would just melt off on me. But I did have 6 things which I absolutely loved in July.
Maybelline Rocket Volume Express Waterproof Mascara
I don't usually use waterproof mascara but as it is summer and so hot, I needed something which wouldn't make me look like a ghost. It gives great volume and length, and just makes my lashes look really amazing. And it is worth every hype it has been getting!!!

Clinique Gel Liner in 02 True Black
This isn't a new find as I bought it in January, but I kind of got over it and stopped using it. I have rediscovered it now and I love how it looks on my eyes. It's not the easiest thing to apply, but once you get used to it, it's great. It can smudge so I just have to be a little careful with it throughout the day.

    Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

I have tried quite a few drugstore concealers but I haven't loved any of them or bought them again, but this one is my favourite and I will definitely buy it again. I just using it under my eyes. I have been wearing this, the rocket volume mascara and just some lipstick during the hot days and I love the look. It glides on perfectly, doesn't crease much and isn't cakey at all.

    L'Oreal Absolute Make-Up Remover

This is the waterproof version, they also have the normal version which looks the same so don't be mistaken guys. This is my second bottle and I love it. It is suitable for sensitive eyes which is perfect for me. Let's just say it is a great make-up remover and easy to use. When I use it to remove the make-up off my lips it doesn't dry my lips and I simply love it.

Boots Coconut and Almond Body Butter

First of all it smells amazing. It is hydrating and the smell lingers on which I like. You can say it is the cheaper version of the body shop body butters. The texture of this isn't as thick as the body shop ones but i just really like this. They have other 'flavours' too so I will definitely be going and buying more of these.

BarryM Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Polish in Satsuma

I have been wearing it on my toe nails for about 2 weeks now and I love it. We have done a blog post on it so you guys can check it out here.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading that, and let us know what your July favourites were!

    Karen's July Favourites

WHAT? It's August already? I can't believe either, seriously, where did July go? Now, we are more than half way through the year :/ But anyway, it's time for my favourites from July :)

Middle: Before blending     Right: After blending
The idea of this bb cream fascinates me, as it come out as a white cream, and when it is blended on your skin, it changes to your skin tone. It is a colour adopting tinted cream, which is suitable for every skin colour. Also, this has a really light coverage, almost like a tinted moisturiser, which I love to use during summer. However, I would not recommend this to people who have oily skin because it can sometimes make your face looks shiny.

As mentioned above, the Body Shop bb cream can look a bit oily, so I have been putting powder to set my make-up and to take the extra shine away. This is in translucent, which is great as it avoids the look of too much make-up. I believe good drugstore versions of this are the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot and Rimmel Stay Matte.

During the last month, I have been lazy with eye shadows and eye liner. The eyelashes basically played a big role on my eyes! Therefore, I have to make sure that they are all curly and nice. The Shu Uemera eyelash curlers are well-known to deliver beautiful curly lashes, and I cannot agree more!

    Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched/Hydrate
Before the Baby Lips were launched in the UK, I asked my sister to get me this from New York. It is nice, hydrating, smells great, and cheap! Seriously can't think of any disadvantages! So excited to see these in the UK drugstore and purchase more!

L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse in 174 Rose Taffeta

Another lip product my sister got me from New York. I have never seen this in the UK, but the packaging looks lovely. The gold packaging kind of reminds me of the YSL lipsticks which are SO pretty! Anyway, I love using this lipstick as it does not dry my lips and the shade is really natural which I can use on a daily basis during summer :)

I love the scent from the DAISY MARC JACOBS range, it just smells like summer! Instead of carrying a bottle of perfume around, I got given this rollerball from my sister, which is so easy to take out. What more can I say? Rollerballs are like the best inventions ever!

SO, here are my favourites! Let us know what yours were, and if you have tried any of the products mentioned above :) Have a nice day guys :D
